GUIDELINES FOR IMPORTING USED JAPANESE VEHICLES IN BELARUS

There are many requirements to be complied with for the import of the used Japanese cars which were manufactured before 2007.
A declaration form is required to be submitted by the importer of the used car from Japan.
The car to be imported from Japan must be of the environmental class and must have at least one airbag at the front and ISOFIX standard attachment points at the seat for the safety of children.
If the importer has suitable and related documents obtained from the seller, then to abide by the fourth environment class will be possible.
Being a member of the environment class limits, the importer is not required to apply for the environmental class limits.

The environmental and technical requirements are mandatory for the import of all Japan used cars from 1 July 2016.

As per Article 264 of the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (CC EAEU), if the importer does not have membership in the Union and intends to temporarily import the vehicle for personal usage, then he/she can import the vehicle for only one year.
The importer can import such vehicles only if a written customs declaration is obtained with the help of a passenger customs declaration.
Such a vehicle must be sold, donated, or taken out of the Customs Union’s territory after the end of the period of one year.
