Left-hand drive used Japanese vehicles are permitted for import in DR Congo. Used vehicles from Japan can also be imported through the container method. Used motor vehicles from Japan that are above 6 months old from the date of registration are exempted from pre-shipment inspection.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE IMPORT OF VEHICLES
  • Vehicle registration document (original or certified copy)
  • Bill of Lading (BOL)
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Legal conveyance certificate
  • Vehicle inspection certificate or document of the country of origin (legal copy)
TAXATION
  • 8% to 46.1% of Customs duty.
  • 8% to 13% of VAT.
