Left-hand drive used Japanese cars are permitted for import in Denmark. Technical inspection and Customs inspection are necessary for importing Japan used cars in Denmark and applying for Danish number plates.

• Vehicle inspection form and the Customs inspection form (issued by the authority of inspection)
• A document proving that the Customs duty has been paid
• Certificate of foreign registration
• Application for the payment of the registration tax
• A document stating the deposition of registration tax

• 10% of Customs duty and 25% VAT of the sum of the price of the car in invoice and freight charges are imposed.
• Registration tax to be paid once for the vehicle that has been imported in Denmark. Registration tax is not required to be paid again when the vehicle is sold.
