Left-hand drive used Japanese vehicles are permitted for import.

The container method for shipment can be arranged as per the requirement of the customer.

The used vehicles to be imported in Fiji have to go through inspection for the control of pests and diseases.

The vehicle must be free of pests to be allowed for importation.

AGE RESTRICTIONS
  • Used cars and tractors(for carrying passengers): Max. 5 years old
  • Special vehicles (LPG, CNG, Solar, Electric, Hybrid) and Solar road tractors(for carrying passengers): Max. 8 years old
  • Age is calculated from the date of manufacture of the vehicle.
  • An application to the General Manager Customs is required to be made along with the necessary documents such as Export Certificates (of both Japanese and English versions which are certified by the relevant authorities).
  • Documents stating and confirming the date of manufacture of the vehicle obtained from the Japanese Road Transport Authority. The documents must be signed by the authorized signatory.

A Customs broker at the port assists in Customs clearance to help eliminate the risk of mistakes or you must do the clearance yourself. All the necessary documents must be carried for the process of clearance at the Customs.

At the time of delivery of the vehicle, an agricultural clearance must be obtained for the vehicle from the Quarantine Section of the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji. Customs clearance must also be obtained for the delivery.

  • Invoice (stating costs of export)
  • Invoice (stating the total price and purchase date of the vehicle)
  • Bill of Lading
  • Invoice (stating freight insurance charges in Fiji)
  • Odometer reading (at the time of the sale of the vehicle for export to Fiji)
  • Odometer reading (at the time of import)
  • Quarantine or agricultural clearance
