TAXATION

The taxes applicable to the import of used Japanese cars in French Polynesia are calculated on the basis of the value of the vehicle, its model, size, year of manufacture, and accessories.
19.6% Value Added Tax (VAT) is applicable to the import of used cars from Japan and is to be paid by the owner of the vehicle.
