Other ports in Latvia for importing used Japanese cars are Rostock, Port of Saint-Petersburg, and Port of Stockholm. Left-hand drive Japan used vehicles are allowed for importation in Latvia.

TAXATION

10% duty and 10% VAT will be levied on vehicles that are less than 7 years of age with either 1600 cc petrol or 1800 cc engine.
18% VAT will be levied on vehicles that are more than 7 years of age with either 1600 cc petrol or 1800 cc engine.

Used vehicles from Japan can be imported temporarily in Latvia for a maximum duration of one year. An application for the temporary import of the vehicle is required to be submitted at the Customs office in Riga. A 2% deposit also needs to be paid with the application.
