TAXATION
Taxes and duties imposed on the import of Japan used vehicles:
- For vehicles with up to 2000cc engine and seating capacity of fewer than 10 persons:
- 25% Import Duty, 15% Excise Duty, 16.5% VAT
- For vehicles with 2000cc - 2500cc engine and seating capacity of fewer than 10 persons:
- 25% Import Duty, 16.5% Excise Duty, 30% VAT
- For vehicles with 2500cc - 3000cc engine and seating capacity of fewer than 10 persons:
- 25% Import Duty, 40% Excise Duty, 16.5% VAT
- For vehicles with 3000cc and above the engine and seating capacity of fewer than 10 persons:
- 25% Import Duty, 50% Excise Duty, 16.5% VAT
- Minibus having a carrying capacity of 10 persons: 25% Import Duty, 16.5% VAT
- Trucks weighing less than 3 tons: 10% Import Duty, 5% Excise Duty, 16.5% VAT
- Trucks weighing more than 3 tons: 1.10% Import Duty, 2.50% Excise Duty
- Trucks weighing more than 10 tons: 1.50% Excise Duty
