Right-hand-drive used Japanese cars are permitted for import in Moldova. The used vehicle from Japan to be imported in Moldova should be declared by the importer for clearance at customs. The customs declaration must be submitted in writing or by the electronic means under 72 hours after the vehicle has been imported in Moldova.

• 5% of the customs cost will be imposed as tax for the import of vehicles from any country.
• The custom tariff imposed on the import of vehicles is exempted for those countries with which Moldova has made agreements of free trade, the Soviet Union, Romania, and the European Union.
• 30% of the Excise tax is applicable.
• 20% of the Customs value will be charged as VAT.
